The consortium of Abt Associates and TEAM Consult implemented a technical assistance project aiming to assist the Government of Nepal (GoN) in transitioning from a unitary state to a federation of provinces with more effective, accountable, responsive and inclusive local governance. This project helped the GoN create and implement evidence-based policies and legislation, helped targeted local governments to be more responsive, inclusive, accountable, transparent, and effective in decision making and delivering priority services to fulfil core legal responsibilities, and encouraged active participation of citizens and civil society organizations in local decision-making and oversight.
