This programme was implemented by the consortium of Mott MacDonald and TEAM Consult towards supporting the poorest and most vulnerable communities and local enterprises in western Nepal to become more resilient to the impact of climate change; use participatory, evidence-based processes to identify long-term adaptation priorities; and integrate these into Government of Nepal planning and policy; build the capacity of Government of Nepal to finance, design and deliver adaptation interventions; and improve coordination of community-based adaptation interventions and generate evidence that can improve the quality of future adaptation planning. TEAM Consult worked specifically to reduce the fiduciary risk associated with the programme by providing oversight over the Government’s financial management and reporting and through implementation of measures to strengthen public financial management systems and strengthen the capacity of Government of Nepal (both central and new local governments) to implement climate change adaptation programming.
